About young Actors Academy

At Young Actors Academy, we believe drama is more than performance — it's a powerful tool for building confidence, creativity, and communication. Whether a child is bursting with energy or quietly imaginative, we create a supportive space where they can thrive on stage and in life.

The academy is led by Claire, a qualified teacher with over 20 years' experience in drama education and theatre. Claire has:

• Successfully led secondary school performing arts departments
• Directed large-scale youth musicals, including Les Misérables, West Side Story, Billy Elliot, We Will Rock You, Joseph, and Little Shop of Horrors 
• Worked extensively with children and teens across a wide age range
• Served as a GCSE and BTEC Performing Arts examiner, with deep understanding of what high-quality performance looks like at every level
   

Alongside her work in schools, Claire also founded and ran a professional touring theatre company, bringing high-quality family theatre to audiences across the UK — combining educational expertise with real-world creative industry experience.

At Young Actors Academy, we bring together all this knowledge to offer inspiring, well-structured acting classes for ages 6–18. Our sessions build core performance skills — from character work and ensemble acting to script study and expressive movement — while also supporting confidence, independence, and self-expression.
