About young Actors Academy

At Young Actors Academy, we believe drama is more than performance — it's a powerful way for young people to grow in confidence, creativity, and communication. Whether a child is full of energy or quietly imaginative, we offer a supportive space where they can shine both on stage and in life.

The academy is led by Claire, a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience in drama education and theatre. She has successfully led secondary school performing arts departments, directed numerous large-scale youth musicals including Les Misérables, West Side Story, Billy Elliot, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and worked extensively with young performers of all ages.

Claire is also an experienced GCSE and BTEC Performing Arts examiner, giving her deep insight into performance standards and assessment at every level.

Alongside her work in education, Claire previously founded and ran a professional touring theatre company delivering high-quality family theatre across the UK — combining creativity with real-world experience in the performing arts industry.

Young Actors Academy brings together all this expertise to offer inspiring, well-structured drama training for children aged 6–16. Our Saturday classes are designed to build acting skills, character work, ensemble performance and script study — all while helping young people grow in confidence, independence, and expression.
